Is your thyroid keeping you from losing the extra weight? Finding the time to exercise and meal plan in your busy schedule is hard enough, but add in the fact that your thyroid is causing you to be persistently fatigued and with low motivation is NOT going to help you find that time! Here are some ways to NATURALLY help you lost weight and save your time:

  • Get your numbers under control- When you found out that you had hypothyroidism did your doctor just quickly throw you on a synthroid without doing proper testing that was specific to your needs? You may have gone years with your doctor increasing and lowering your dosage to eventually get it right! In the process, this has really affected your body and your life in negative ways! You must make sure that you get proper testing and on the right dosage to get your hormone levels correct which will dramatically increase your quality of life and make it much easier to lose weight.
  • Get plenty of rest- The National Sleep Foundation reports that people who sleep less than 6 hours each night have a higher body mass index than people who sleep 8 or more hours. Getting plenty of sleep is very important for anyone trying to lose weight, but for someone that suffers from hypothyroidism it is vital! Not only will you be more alert from getting the rest you need, but you also won't be eating as much trying to keep yourself awake.
  • Eat an anti-inflammatory diet- Foods that are pro-inflammatory are EVERYWHERE, and they are not good for us at all! With thyroid disease, your body's reaction to inflammatory foods could possibly cause you to experience some of the more uncomfortable and painful symptoms such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and aching joints. For this reason, it is very important to stick to an anti-inflammatory diet such as berries, celery, dark green vegetables, sweet potatoes fatty fish, and nuts.
  • Take a collagen supplement- Collagen is a protein that we are born with that naturallly supports the lean muscle and burns our stored fat. The bad news is we start to lose collagen after our twenties which leads to slower metabolism, weight gain, lower energy levels, digestive problems, and joint pain. Everyone experiences this with age, but with hypothyroidism on top of that you just can't win. Taking a collagen supplement is a natural way with no worries for drugs or stimulants to help you lose weight, increase your energy levels, improve digestion, and decrease joint pain!
